Melissa Davis is a heritage consultant and accredited Professional Historian with over 16 years of experience in the cultural heritage sector, specialising in both Aboriginal and built heritage.
Melissa's expertise span across State and Local Government heritage organisations, including the Heritage Council of Western Australia, the Rottnest Island Authority and the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage.
Her historical research encompasses a range of topics, including the experiences of Boer women during the South African War, the challenges faced by Macedonian migrants arriving in Western Australia during the inter-war period, and her role as a primary research officer for the 'Stolen Wages Report' at the former Department of Indigenous Affairs.
With strong historical research and analytical skills, Melissa’s approach to each project is grounded in storytelling and a deep understanding of the values and significance of Place.
